An Unhurried Beginning - Emerging within Liminal Space

How is the weather in your inner landscape? This time of year, you may be experiencing a little sprinkling of everything. I see it happening outside in Nature, too. Winter has been putting on what feels like one last hurrah with wild displays of sideways rain, sleet, snow and biting cold that has me slipping even further under the covers and into the dark warm cave where my soul is wintering. Then suddenly a warm breath floats across the cold air, and Spring steps in offering a fantastical taste of whats to come with tender breezes and brilliant sunny days that make me want to literally drink the sun and sink my feet into the waterlogged muddy grass of my front yard. I like to call this the dance of the seasons, a wildly liminal space that is neither Winter nor Spring, a mix of both and neither, a time where endings and beginnings are all in the same space together.
Here in the in-between where uncertainty and possibility, and chaos and beauty circle around eachother, where old patterns dissolve and new ones arise, is a magical time for both stillness and growth. Because without change, there is no growth! It is part of the birthing process where we prepare to step from one realm into another, completely transformed. Our bodies are ever so delicately tuning into the subtleties of Nature's awakening. We are stirring in our Winter sleep with visions of Spring filling our dreams, gently rousing us from the depths of darkness and rest.
Emerge slowly, following the guidance of the natural world around you. Savor each moment in this liminal space, even when things don't make sense or are not as they seem. Sense into your roots. Slowly poke your head through the soil. Taste the warm sun. Listen to the serenading songs of the birds returning from their migrations. Gently unfurl yourself petal by petal, frond by frond. There is no rush. This is an unhurried beginning. Drink in the new life and beauty that is revealing itself within and around you and trust the process of your becoming!
