The Seasonal Cadence and Rhythm Your Heart and Soul Know How to Dance To

I told myself this story for years, "I'm not ready for Fall, and I don't want Summer to end."  That story changed over the years as summers became unbearably hot for me. Then I began to tell myself, "I can't wait for Summer to end." When I let go of the old stories and opened to Nature's seasonal journey inward, I never imagined the symphony of sensations that awaited me!

My taste buds crave root vegetables and foods that are hearty, warm and rich in flavor. My ears crave music laden with full bodied rhythms, deep heavy grooves and atmospheric tempos that flow through my senses in the same colors as the turning leaves outside.

My hands love to sink themselves into the warm mulch recently laid across the garden beds, and my eyes drink in the sunsets that arrive earlier and earlier each evening, cascading into divine brushstrokes of deep oranges, magestic purples and blues and golden yellow hues.

I crave the warmth and transformation of fire, the nourishment of hot tea filled with Autumn plant allies, more rest, quiet contemplation while star gazing and being bathed by the early Fall rains. I'm called to go deeper into my being, to be in a flow of gratitude for all of life and to sit in candlelight with my Ancestors.

Connecting with the seasons is about curiosity, opening yourself to the unknown and allowing Nature to gently guide you into the cadence of a natural and cyclical process that your soul already knows deeply and the rhythm your heart already knows how dance to.

As you immerse yourself in the rhythm and cadence of Fall, transitioning from growth and activity to rest, gratitude and renewal, I invite you to reflect on these questions...

What nourishment and cravings are YOUR body and soul are calling for?

What final preparations are you making as you turn your focus and energy inward?

How can you slow down, be more present and deepen your sensory experience of the season?

What blessings have come into your life this year and what are you grateful for?

May you experience the Fall season as a precious gift from Nature that will lovingly guide you inward.
